Thankful for Music

As the holidays approach, we make it a point to have music on all the time. Heck, it’s the one time of year when we listen to music and watch football (unless the Pack is on, of course, then all bets are off).
This morning, I was listening while getting the kids’ rooms picked up. I was stopped in mid-fold by a couple of songs. For some reason, these really touched me. So, I thought I’d share.
Josh Groban – Thankful
Amy Grant – I Need a Silent Night
This song is so new that I had to go to Amazon to get you a little listen. It’s well work the buck for the download – in fact, the album is pretty good all the way around.
I’m not going to type all of the lyrics in here because I have a thing about that. But, I can’t resist the chorus…
I need a silent night a Holy night to hear an angel voice
Through the chaos and the noise I need a midnight clear
A little peace right here to end this crazy day with a silent night
The holidays are a time of contradiction for me. I long to simplify and enjoy the little things (and little ones) around me but, at the very same time, I am invigorated by all of the possibilities and celebrations.
Music is one of the simple things. I hope you enjoy!
